îÁÚÎÁÞÅÎÉÅ É ÐÒÉÎÃÉÐ ÒÁÂÏÔÙ ÐÒÉÂÏÒÁ Application The device is intended for indentation of a metal pipe surface from magnetic and non- magnetic materials in field conditions and the subsequent definition of their mechanical properties. The design of the device includes loading unit which is fixed on a pipe by chains, control and measurement systems, and also the personal computer (Notebook). Loading unit contains the electromechanical motor, the load cell and displacement sensor. The indentation tests are carried out on the selected indentation law with load or displacement (indentation depth) control under single or cyclic loading Indentation depth and load are measured continuously during the indentation process. The indentation diagram obtained from tests allows to calculate the basic mechanical properties of a tested material (methodology has been developed in the G.S.Pisarenko Institute for Problems of Strength of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine under the direction of Dr. V.V.Kharchenko, www.ipp.kiev.ua).
